I am pleased to say that the BassesByLeo forumcontinues to be a great place to discuss technical issues and optionsfor G&L basses. We also have modding information in Evil Experiments, a forum for non-G&L basses, and a forum dedicated to that G&L monster - the L-1000.
We're also fortunate tohave the company of Paul Gagon. Paul has done extensive designwork for Charvel/Jackson Guitars, Fender Musical Instrument Corp, andof course G&L Musical Instruments. From pickups to preamps toamps and many other audio technologies, Paul has had his hands in themusic industry for many years. Now semi-retired, Paul hasremained active with us a BbL as a teacher and technical writer. He also plays a mean guitar (and bass, though he won't admit it). You can find Paul's Technicalities here.
Questions emailed to me regarding G&L bass support or bass questions in general will be referred to the forum. Ifyou have questions about G&L basses and bass gear, please join theforum and ask there. The forum is designed as a public place forG&L players to congregate and share knowledge. Any back channel tech questions to me via PM or email will be referredto the forum, and it is common for me to copy & paste these to theforum. I understand that there may betimes when it becomes necessary to take a subject private, and I willmake that determination on an individual basis.
You can find the new forumright here. Please take a few minutes to check through the Announcements and the various forum descriptions. Most of all, have fun!
Forum Registration and Activation
As of 5/4/2017, to reduce or eliminate forum spamming accountactivation will be done via administrator action. That means that Iwill be manually examining the registration details of all potentialmembers and allowing access based upon the results of the examination.I verify that the email address used is valid and not a catch-all. ThenI run the email address, username, and IP address against a spammingdatabase. If I get a hit on any one of the items checked, Idouble-check using a different database. If I cannot get a clean readon all items, the prospective account is banned (email, username, IP)and deleted. If everything checks out okay, which is usually the case, the account gets activated. I'm generally able to do this within a fewhours, but this may add a day or two to the registration/activationprocess. Once activated, I send an email to the address of recordletting the recipient know that their account is activated and readyfor use. If activation is denied for any reason, no email is sent.
